School is almost over :-( May 2010

Wow,  I can't believe that the year is almost over! It has gone by so fast! The students are really getting excited for the end of the year because we have a field trip to the ZOO and Elementary Camp! It is getting harder to keep them focused but we will push through! We have a crazy next couple of weeks but it will be so fun! I am trying to get things around for a fun end of the year!
The goodbyes have already started. This week we had to say goodbye to Mrs. Brader ( Heather, my co-teacher) because she had to leave early for family stuff. But I can tell that the goodbyes will be hard when the time comes. My students are just too precious and I will miss them so much when I leave. I am just trying to make as many memories with them and my friends while I can. A lot of pictures and videos! I can't wait to come home and share with all of you all of great things that God has done this year!
Thank you so much for helping me raise support to come home! I am getting there and will hopefully home in 1 month! Miss you all! <3

ICEC in Germany/ Switzerland

Hey everyone!
I cannot believe that it is already April! I just returned from spring break a week ago! What an amazing experience to see God's creation over Switzerland and attend a ASCI Europe conference with believers all over Europe and Northern Africa! It was amazing! God is really doing amazing things over here!
At the conference I was able to here amazing speakers David Livermoore and President of Compassion International Wes Stafford. Both really spoke to my heart in more than one way. Tears of pain and joy were shed at this conference and it was just a huge blessing! God really taught me a lot about myself those couple of days and how I need a faith lift! God is just amazing!
I was also encouraged as a teacher! A teachers words, walk and wardrobe was a super seminar I attended and loved! What an amazing blessings it is to teach MK's. I never really thought of the impact one word can have on a student. I took away a lot of things from the conference and am applying it to my class. One thing I thought was neat was one teacher who said she took each student aside to pray with each student one on one! I pray that the Lord uses that time in a big way.
I really love my students and was so encouraged to get back to them after the break and just share Jesus with them!
It was missions week this week. We had Elementary chapel everyday and focused on praying for a certain country each day: they all need to know about CHRIST
Chile
Haiti
Russia
Indonesia
Spain
Turkey
It was so great for the students to learn about other countries and to pray for them.
We went to the high school chapel Friday b/c the Croatia Missions team was reporting on their trip. Our class had prayer partners on the team so we were delighted to go. It was amazing! God really showed up and the whole school worshiping is just AMAZING! God is just so good!
Thank you so much for your support everyone and your prayers:

New prayer request: Standardized Testing all next week! Please for the students its a lot!
Also I am trying to raise funds to buy a plane ticket home!
THANK YOU SO MUch!

Just some fun activities here is SPAIN!

GREEN MILKSHAKES!!! SOOO COOL!

God is doing amazing things in SPAIN!

Wow, it has been a really long time since I have blogged. Life has just been so busy here. It is officially spring break now! I am getting all pack for the ASCI conference in Germany! :-) I am very excited!

So the third quarter is done now and things are moving fast toward the end of the year. My class has just been wonderful. Heather and I have started to read mysteries in ELA time with both grades and the students are loving it! They even ask for homework in it! They are the cutest little detectives. I love seeing my students so enthused about learning! It is just wonderful! I put some pics up of the 4th and 5th during reading time! We are missing Mrs. Brader though! It has been a long week without her. Her family was visiting.
Thank you so much for all your prayers and support for my students! God is working in their hearts and mine too! We got into really great discussion about the true meaning of Easter and how Jesus is the reason we celebrate! Most of the students I work with are missionary kids and know the true meaning but some do not and it can be an incredible witness for them! We talked about what it means to have a relationship with Jesus! It was really a great day!
I hid the phrase HE IS RISEN! around the room and they had to find all the letters and figure out the phrase! Then because GOD IS SO AWESOME -We also had the opportunity to have the 1st grade class come in and read their Easter books to us and THAT WAS THEIR TITLE! They were telling our students all about Jesus it was soo adorable! :-) Then they got their Easter candy the Stouffers sent THANKS SOO MUCH! They loved it!!!

I WISH YOU ALL A WONDERFUL EASTER! HE IS RISEN! PRAISE HIM! JESUS IS ALIVE!

Cuz' the sun is shining! It's a perfect day to be ALIVE! It's a wonderful life!

It's a wonderful life by Natalie Grant. This song has been playing in my head the last couple of days. She is right, THE LORD IS RIGHT, it is a great day to be alive and to worship him! Even though I am in a different country I have been able to worship in a different language it has been great! This past Sunday's service and some others have just been a blessing, singing songs of other languages that ALL PRAISE GOD!
Another week of school has gone by and it was a great one! I started off Monday morning with giving staff devotions. I was very nervous but in the end it was ok and God's message was heard. It was a four day week this week which was awesome! O and also Laura's birthday (she is the first grade teacher) so lots of fun w/ that to come this weekend! I feel very blessed that God has called me here these six months!
I'm excited to have fun this weekend with my friends as well as await Katie's arrival on thursday the 4th!!! I am so excited!

A sidenote on fundraising:
I am still in need of support. Thanks so much to you all who have given so far you are amazing! I have only received half of the support which means in march I will be out of money. So please continue to pray for me if you can support that is great PRAYERS ARE ALWAYS THE BEST!!!!
Please pray for my class as well!
THANKS MANY BLESSINGS!

First full week over!

Hey everyone!
The first full week of school is over! It went great! A little stressful because I gave a lot of tests this week. More stressful for the kids than for me but they did good! :-) I'm so excited for next week to start its the third quarter, so it will be all fresh and new! Mrs. Brader, or Heather another young teacher from 2nd and 3rd grade will be coming in to teach with me as Miss Kellum their teacher comes back! She just graduated from college and ready to bring in the new style with me! I'm so excited!
I am so excited to have her in the class. We will be splitting up the grades somewhat! So it will be half of the load, which is always good. I just can't wait but lots of planning to do. Oh and I will have to do report cards this weekend to! Oh the joy! :-)
I hope u all are doing well thanks again for all of your support!

ACSI Conference in Germany

Hey everyone!!!
I hope you are all enjoying my blog pictures will be coming soon when I have time! Teaching is busy busy busy! Ok so I am going to hopefully go to the ACSI conference in Germany during Spring Break. I would really love to go and learn more about serving the Lord through education. I am in the process of saving money to go there and hopefully will raise enough. Which is the main reason why I'm posting. I am only half way at my goal of 6,000 for the 6 months I'm here. So anyone who feels called to support can either write a check to me and give it to my mom for those of you who know her or can go through my mission agency RCE:

Ok so what you can do is send a check: Make it out to RCE International & put my account #13907
on the memo line. The account number is important don't forget and and they ask that you do NOT write my name on it just the # not sure why hehe.
 Then send it to:

RCE International

Wheaton, IL 60189

Snow Day!

My first full week of school was about to start this Monday but then we had a SNOW DAY!!!!!!! A rare thing for Spain. It was not even that much snow but since they don't get snow here they close schools and work places because they cannot get rid of it. They really just have to wait until it melts!
I had a great snow day! (PICS WILL COME SOON) I played outside with the kids and then watched a movie with Jesse (One of the girls also living here)! It was so relaxing! We decided to go on a walk up the hill behind the house, what a gorgeous view!!! God's creation is really just so beautiful! On our way down though it was slippery and Jesse sprang her ankle. (NOT GOOD) Please pray for her that it heals quickly. After that I got to hang out with my great friend Laura who also teaches at the school! Overall it was a great day!!!
